The mission of FMG is simply to assist independent furniture retailers in growing their businesses to become more profitable. This is accomplished by offering a vast array of recommended product and business services exclusively for FMG members.
For the most part, FMG members are non-competing retailers. This fact promotes the sharing of ideas during regularly scheduled market meetings at each High Point Furniture Market, and at our annual Winter Symposium. Plus, during the Symposium FMG vendors have the opportunity to interact with the members in a casual, friendly atmosphere, fostering long-term relationships.
Because of the huge buying potential of the group, FMG members enjoy a combination of volume discounts and rebates based on the volume of the entire group. Each year, member stores earn thousands of dollars in rebates, which go directly to their company's bottom line. All rebates exceed those that retailers could get on their own.
Some manufacturers offer FMG members exclusive product lines, or offer upgraded fabrics or finishes. Most are stocked for immediate delivery.
FMG has a rotating buying committee that selects and negotiates with manufacturers/importers for the benefit of the entire group. Surveys are used to determine the best vendor for a given category and price point.
